This week, someone asked me what stood out most to me over the holidays. I shared my answer with them, and they encouraged me to really put it out there. First and foremost, the most important thing to me around the holidays is my faith foundation and how it shapes everything I experience here on this beautiful planet Earth.
The holiday season also feels like a reset to me. For some people, it might be unofficial, but for me, it is a time to start again, to reflect, and to improve. As human beings, we are unique in our ability to hit the reset button and show up in the next year as somebody different than the year before.
There is something special about the new year as a starting line. It gives us the chance to assess the year that just passed and consider who we can be or what we can improve in the year ahead.
Having that extra downtime during the holidays is important. It allows me to evaluate where I am, look forward, and ask myself who I need to be next year to be better for the people around me and for myself. This cycle of reflection and growth is something I return to year after year.
